Welcome to the viewfinder

Seven years ago I took a bold step I thought and began a blog for the Tracy Press newspaper.  Snapshots has been a way to talk about photography, photojournalism and some of the moments I have seen behind the camera.

In those seven years I shared many momentous occasions and the depths of heartbreak  and despair on assignment I have come across.  In the Snapshots blog the line that separates work photography from my personal work has blurred often.

Today I have started this blog, Through the Viewfinder which will look at my photography and the ever changing world of digital storytelling.  It will focus on all the digital photography I enjoy from nature and lanscapes to portraiture and aviation.I am also on the team of a new video storytelling and brand journalism company, Chronicles in Motion.  I will delve into the fast growing realm of DSLR video and the equipment it requires.

Snapshots will remain but I will concentrate on my photojournalism adventures for that blog.

With that I hope you follow along as I continue to explore the world through the viewfinder one image at a time.
