After the storm

A thunderstorm rumbled over Tracy today and amid the electrical display was lots of rain. After the first wave had passed I took a look around my parents yard to see what I could find left by the storm.

I didn’t bother to pack my camera for the Easter visit today all I had was my iPhone 4 and small Canon point and shoot I take on long hikes.  Even though they don’t have the large full frame or even APS-C size sensors they did a great capturing the rain clinging to flowers around the yard. I switched the point and shoot camera to the macro mode as I wandered around the yard in search of the last few raindrops.

I have always loved taking cloud pictures and the ominous formation billowing overhead were made for pictures.  I snapped a few between rain showers as well as the storm cells passed through the area.

Not every photo shoot has to have my full-frame 22 megapixel behemoth.  Days like this were made for a few quick snapshots a=under the fleeting moments of sunlight until the next storm passes through.
