Open House
I haven’t been to an air show in years so when I saw a listing for the Livermore Airport Open House and air show I jumped at the chance to see some aerobatic action. However the recent federal government shutdown also closed any performance above the runway as an FAA issue was raised.
A couple of the pilots scheduled to perform took their airplanes up for a flight demonstration putting their airplanes through a series of turns and climbs with smoke on. It was about as close to an air show I will get to this year. But kudos to the pilots for thinking of the crowd and flying for us.
It was good to hear the growl of a thundering radial engine straining for altitude and I am glad I got the chance to see them fly and check out the static airplanes on display. I look forward to getting back into the air show circuit next year and hope to catch some dazzling aerobatic display.
