Twilight
There’s that time after the sun has set and the sky reflects the last few rays of light across the water at Isenberg. The sky changes from a fiery orange to a warm magenta hue as night settles over the wetlands.
While people shoved elbowed each other through store isles in the first day of holiday shopping we made a “Black Friday” trip to watch the crane’s arrival at sunset, where ducks and geese jostle for the best position in the water for the evening.
A clear sky, brisk winds and cold temperatures greeted us at the reserve where recent rains have filled the wetlands more. Early arriving geese and ducks wheeled overhead flying in ever-changing formations.
A magnificent sunset ushered in the cranes arrival as their silhouettes crossed the warm tones in the fading light.
I have one more trip in my Isenberg season, a dawn in December for the last chance to capture the cranes this year.
Great shots let me know the date for Dec may be up for the cranes 😀
