Cloud 9
For as long as I can remember I have always been fascinated with photographing clouds. When a few storm systems blew across the Central Valley I tried to grab a pictures of the more dramatic formations with my iPhone.
While it’s not as flexible as my Canon DSLR the iPhone 7 gave me surprisingly good results, even in some of the extreme back lit situations.
I have always loved the stark contrast of the partly cloudy skies against the sky, with the sun casting deep shadows and creating texture in the folds of white and gray.
Color shows the warm of the setting sun reflected ion the cloud base black and white images show the stark contrast and detail that I think makes the clouds unique.
